Don't want to sound like the old fart i know i am but weren't those 'simple' games our generation started playing in the early eighties and later on the C64 far more addictive then those new hi-tech, high res visual extravaganza's of today's computer- and Xbox games?I remember playing Pong for hours on end every single day after school with my brother untill my grandmother wanted to have a go and in the space of a few minutes finished off one of the joysticks...... :-(
Old fart indeed ;-) I was part of that generation, so I'm quite an old fart too. I don't think the reason I played Pong is the same reason I play modern days games. Playing computer games 25 years ago meant something very different than playing them now. I don't think current games are less addictive (I have to admit, I work in the games industry), they are just very different...
